Description:
The Lead UX designer will work with client, agency partners, and residents to iteratively design the website with human-centered design practices.

Roles and responsibilities:
• Own the design process and standards for the website
• Own and manage updates to the client’s Digital Style and Content Guide
• Work with agency content managers and designers to identify user needs and ensure agency design and UX meets those needs
• Lead and conduct user experience (UX) research and design
• Lead design sessions to gain insights into user behavior
• Translate user insights into digital interactions
• Create personas and other design process artifacts through user research and data
• Define interaction models and evaluate success
• Develop workflows, wireframes and prototypes related to user needs
• Visually design digital graphics, user interfaces, and team presentations
• Work closely with the development team to build and test new experiences on the website
• Build trust and partnerships by working alongside agency partners
• Help grow the client’s human-centered approaches and spread design best practices in collaboration with web professionals across client agencies.

Experience Required:
• Five (5) years of experience in user experience (UX), user interface (UI), and/or service design; experience in digital strongly preferred
• Deep empathy and understanding of equity and inclusiveness, particularly as these show up in technology
• Experience implementing accessibility standards in digital products
• Exceptional written, verbal, and visual communication skills

• Comfort in high-pressure, fast-paced environments and an entrepreneurial spirit
• Deep familiarity with design frameworks
• Experience leading human-centered design workshops is a plus.
• Familiar with interaction design and information architecture
• Knowledge of front-end development is a plus
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
