The Production Associate’s primary responsibility is to support all aspects of production and provide direct backup of other operations staff as required. Duties will include compounding and manufacturing of food ingredients, transferring finished product into multiple packaging systems, receiving and properly labeling raw materials, arranging shipment of finished goods to customers, monitoring inventory of production supplies, and performing facility maintenance and cleaning per the established periodic maintenance schedule. The Production Associate will report directly to the Director of Operations

Essential Job Functions (in order of importance):

· Follow detailed instructions to produce food ingredients in accordance with company procedures

· Follow precise instructions to fill, package, and store finished products

· Ship finished products and receive raw materials per established procedures

· Perform daily cleaning and maintenance tasks in accordance with company procedures

· Perform scheduled maintenance tasks in accordance with company procedures

· Maintain adequate levels of cleaning and maintenance supply inventory

· Assist in the timely progress to address and close corrective actions

· Suggest changes and improvements to company practices/procedures

· Maintain compliance with required training for position throughout the year

· Other duties as assigned

Education:

· High school diploma required

· Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Experience:

· Work experience in the food manufacturing industry or regulated manufacturing environment preferred

· Prior experience in shipping/receiving preferred

· Current training in Department of Transportation (DOT) Hazardous Material shipping regulations is preferred

· Ability to follow detailed instructions, thoroughly document work, and read and understand charts

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.)

Preferred Skills:

· Knowledge of GMP requirements

· Knowledge of forklift operation or similar apparatus

· Knowledge of mechanical equipment

· Knowledge of electrical, fire suppression, and alarm equipment

· Knowledge of pest control practices

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly in one day

· Ability to climb ladders and mobile staircases

· Ability to stand for majority of workday

· Ability to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; kneel; crouch; talk and hear; taste and smell
