Molly's Dog Care is opening soon at Baltimore Peninsula--and we're looking for passionate dog people to help us grow!"

At Molly’s we will offer daycare, boarding, grooming, and training. Daycare and boarding are at the heart of our business, and our dog care specialists are crucial for us to provide a safe and hospitable environment for our furry friends. We are looking for people who will treat our customers’ dogs as their own, have experience working with dogs previously (at a daycare, shelter, vet, walker, or other roles), and want to make a career out of dog care. Whether you want to be a trainer/groomer/owner/operator someday, we will help you get there! This position is hourly, and we can offer either full- or part-time.

About the Role:

The Dog Care Specialist position consists of two separate roles—front desk attendant and playroom attendant. Team members will be trained to work on both functions.

Front desk attendants will greet customers and their dogs, process transactions, create and send report cards, communicate via email and phone, and clean and maintain their work area throughout the day.

Playroom attendants must be able to handle several dogs at once, control the playroom while maintaining a clean space, and ensure each dog has a safe, enjoyable day.

Dog Care Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Treat the dogs like family, always keeping their safety and well-being top of mind.
  • Supervising dogs during large group play, small group play, and 1:1 interactions.
  • Being proactive to ensure incidents and altercations are avoided whenever possible. When they do happen, respond quickly and appropriately to ensure safety for all parties.
  • Helping our training staff provide enrichment activities for dogs.
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly playroom, including a deep clean at the end of the day.
  • Taking photos and providing notes for report cards.
  • Assisting in feeding, walking, medicating, bathing, and transferring dogs.
  • Handling all front desk duties, including but not limited to report cards, transaction processing, and email communications.
  • When working up front, providing support to the playroom attendants when needed.
  • Providing outstanding customer service.
  • Performing other general day-to-day operational tasks as necessary as given by the manager.
  • Bring feedback and suggestions to management on how we can improve.

Requirements:

  • Prior dog daycare or kennel experience is preferred, but we will also consider those who are passionate about dogs and are looking to make a career out of dog care.
  • Ability to work mornings, evenings, and weekends. There are opportunities to work overnight shifts as well, although this is not required for any individual.
  • Ability to work some holidays.
  • Great communication skills—with both humans and doggos!
  • Punctuality and reliability.
  • Willingness to complete training and continuing education courses around dog behavior, first aid & safety, diet, and more.
