• Accurately prepare medications based on prescriptions, including counting, measuring, and labeling oral, topical, and injectable medications.
  • Maintain accurate medication inventory levels by checking stock, placing orders, receiving deliveries, and rotating medications to ensure proper expiration dates.
  • Enter prescription data into the pharmacy computer system, verify patient information, and process refills.
  • Deliver medications to patient care areas, including narcotics, following proper procedures and documentation.
  • Operate and restock automated medication dispensing machines.
  • Maintain accurate records for controlled substances, following strict inventory protocols.
  • Answer patient questions regarding medications, providing basic information under pharmacist supervision.
  • Perform quality checks on medications and packaging, identifying and reporting any discrepancies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician license in the state of practice.
  • Experience in a pharmacy setting preferred.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to navigate pharmacy software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform accurate calculations.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with patients, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
