Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks is seeking dependable and qualified individuals to fill temporary (6-month) non-civil service Community Aide/Office Support positions through MOED’s Hire-Up Program to work in our Park Maintenance Yards.

IMPORTANT: Applicants must show the minimum requirements listed on their application to be eligible. This is a position of trust. Individuals selected for this position will be required to pass a Federal and State criminal background check and receive clearance from Child Protective Services prior to being appointed.

Position Description

This position will be responsible for performing a variety of office support duties which may include, but not limited to, the following: greeting, answering and directing both incoming calls and visitors; retrieving 311 Service Requests daily for manager and close out completed requests; maintain a variety of spreadsheets and justifications to track vendors & supplies; completing injury reports; may assist park maintenance headquarters with front desk coverage as needed; a variety of filing; and various other duties as needed or required. Successful candidates will work an 8-hour shift with a 40-minute unpaid lunch break 5 days per week, generally between the hours of 7:30a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: One year of customer service and clerical experience.

Equivalencies: Six months of additional experience can be substituted for one year of High School up to two years only.

Compensation

The salary is $16.00 per hour.
